Biography
My lab has been studying visual physiology, retinal circuitry, and visual system development for over two decades. Our current studies focus mainly on correlating physiological function with the recently well-described connectomic and transcriptomic properties of the retina. We combine electrophysiology with optogenetics, two-photon imaging, and molecular manipulations to understand visual computation in a functional intact retinal preparation. Using the same approach, we are also investigating neural function and circuitry in retinal organoids and animal models of ocular diseases.
